BACKPACKS!

Exploration is in every man's blood, regardless of whether you like heading into the wilderness armed with little more than a compass and a hip flask of Scotch, or simply hunting down that frustratingly hard-to-find new gourmet burger joint. And when it comes to carrying your kit, no bag hints at adventure and the spirit of the open road quite like the backpack. With hunting and military origins, it goes without saying that backpacks are highly practical - but these days they're stylish, too, with some smart enough to take to the office. And what's more, the backpack featured in the winter 2013 collections of everyone from Lanvin to Givenchy, making it an important trend for the coming season. Click through the gallery, below, to see some of our favourites, and discover six off-the-beaten-track places worth exploring.

FASHION FORGIVES: THE GALLIANO RETURN!

"Everyone in life deserves a second chance, especially someone as talented as John," "I think that life is about forgiving and helping people.…I think John is doing all the right things.” Oscar de la Renta

When Galliano 'left' Dior, Raf Simons Jil Sander and Stefano Pilati YSL, we always said one thing 'Can't wait to see what's next for them'! (although Galliano's situation was just a little bit different) Now let's recap: Stefano Pilati Creative Director and Head of Design at Ermenegildo Zenga, Raf Simons Creative Director at Dior..And last but definitely not least John Galliano to work in Óscar Aristides de la Renta's design studio!

“I am grateful to Oscar beyond words for inviting me to spend time with him in the familiar surroundings of a design studio.”. “His support and faith in me is humbling.” John Galliano

When John Galliano left the fashion industry in disgrace in 2010, everyone knew it: at some point, he'd be back. Now might be that moment. Oscar de la Renta has invited the disgraced 'designer' into his New York design studio over the next three weeks as he prepares for his forthcoming New York Fashion Week showAlthough we had to wait for almost two years, this news feels so damn good! Especially thinking about those who, at the time, did not give Galliano a chance! We're pretty sure 'Oscar de la Renta' would have sounded like a really good joke for them two years ago.

"John and I have known each other for many years and I am a great admirer of his talent." "He has worked long and hard on his recovery and I am happy to give him the opportunity to reimburse himself in the world of fashion and reacclimate in an environment where he has been so creative." Oscar de la Renta

"Oscar de la Renta is the king of uptown style and John Galliano the prince of romantic glamour, so it should be a magical match," "I am delighted John's returning to fashion."Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman

DIOR WISDOM: RAF SIMONS, THE NEW CREATIVE DIRECTOR!

The job at Dior has finally been filled. As much as we love, appreciate and miss John Gallian, if anyone was capable of replacing him, that was definitely Raf Simons or Stefano Pilati!
The luck one?..Raf Simons!

On Wednesday, the Paris fashion house will announce that Raf Simons will take over immediately as creative director, replacing John Galliano, who was fired from Dior last year after he made anti-Semitic remarks. His first collection is planned for July at the fall haute couture shows.

Temperamentally, Simons is the exact opposite of Galliano, who, rumuors say, admired  Simons’s show in February for Jil Sander, a collection of delicately feminine clothes in pinks and beige. It was also Raf Simons’s last for Sander. He was fired shortly before the show, replaced by the brand’s founder.

We wish him good luck and a long and oustanding collaboration!

Goodbye Raf, goodbye Stefano!

Standing ovation after Raf Simon’s last show for Jil Sander!
You don't get to see that every day!
Good luck Raf!

*And good luck Stefano Pilati (probably the most stylish designer out there) - Soon to be replaced by Hedi Slimane at YSL*
Seems like this season comes with some major shake-ups in the fashion industry!
We can't wait to see what's next for them!!!
