ON SARTORIALIST'S STREET! Pt.1
Thesartorialist is reason why fashionspam was originally created. It was probably the only street style blog on the internet at that time. Meanwhile, many bloggers have risen, many have fallen. However, Scott Schuman's work is still our favourite. Enjoy & have a peaceful Sunday!

THE PIT PHOTOGRAPHERS!
''In the last couple of years, it seems that Fashion Week is only about designers, bloggers, models and editors. This season, I thought it would be fun to turn the camera on the faces of fashion that you don't always hear about. Today, the Pit photographers.'' The Sartorialist

SPREZZATURA*!
'Know first who you are, and then adorn yourself accordingly.'
*Sprezzatura is an Italian word originating from Baldassare Castiglione's The Book of the Courtier, where it is defined by the author as "a certain nonchalance, so as to conceal all art and make whatever one does or says appear to be without effort and almost without any thought about it"

VIVA LAS VEGAS ROCKABILLY WEEKENDER!
Three days of music, cars, and dancing held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada!
The Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly* Weekender, which began in 1998, is an annual 4-day music festival and car show that takes place over Easter weekend (Thursday March 28th- Sunday March 31st 2013 this year - so unfortunately you missed this one already). VLV has grown to be the largest event of it’s type in the world. It features bands and fans from all over the globe who come to experience Rockabilly & Original 50s Music, a huge Classic Car Show, Burlesque Competition, Vintage Fashion Show, Dance Lessons and Competition, Tiki Pool Parties held daily, Burlesque Bingo, over 120 Vendors, a Bowling event, The NEW Sailor Jerry Tattoo Lounge hosted by Stedfast Tattoo Parlor, and more.
*Rockabilly is one of the earliest styles of rock and roll music, dating to the early 1950s. It is a "blend of country & western and rhythm & blues" that... pointed the way to classic rock 'n' roll." It has also been defined as "popular music combining features of rock 'n' roll and bluegrass.". The influence and popularity of the style waned in the 1960s, but during the late 1970s and early 1980s-notably with the Stray Cats, rockabilly enjoyed a major revival of popularity. An interest in rockabilly endures even in the 21st century, often within a rockabilly subculture.
Events are held in 6 different music venues within The Orleans Hotel and Casino, with additional areas on site for vendors and more. VLV has grown from the first year’s 1,200 people in attendance, to an attendance of 20,000. The VLV event has sold out in advance for the last few years, so attendees are encouraged to purchase tickets early. Price before March 8, 2013 were $115.
This year’s VLV will feature 65 bands, including Little Richard, Dick Dale, The Rockcats, The Cleftones, a Janis Martin Tribute with Marti Brom & Rosie Flores and 20+ DJs performing nightly between the hours of 1pm and 7am. The 65 performers include Original 50s Stars of Rockabilly, legends of Rock ‘n Roll and Doo Wop, and current rockabilly bands from all over the world. (For full performer listings, go to: http://www.vivalasvegas.net/bands.)
On Saturday March 30th, The Viva Las Vegas Car Show took place, which featured 800 –1,000 vintage cars, which were period correct, and pre 1963. This year’s car show has grown, and moved to a new parking lot area. Performing the Car Show were: Little Richard, Dick Dale, The Rockcats, and more.
