EVEN DE NIRO FUCKED UP!

The 70-year-old star tried out for four different parts in the first of Francis Ford Coppola’s epic gangster trilogy – and was turned down for all of them. The video shows De Niro as an unknown actor in his 20s auditioning for the part of Sonny Corleone wearing a jaunty hat.

The part eventually went to James Caan while De Niro was briefly cast as Vito Corleone’s driver Paulie but ended up losing out to Johnny Martino for that role, too. But De Niro had the last laugh when he was cast as the young Vito in The Godfather Part II – a part which bagged him his first Oscar in 1974.
